UPDATES
NOVARTIS India has
started marketing the oral iron-chelating drug called ASUNRA in
India. Outside our country the drug is market as EXJADE. The active
component in the drug is Deferasirox.
The tablets is
available in dosages of 100 mg and 400 mg and is dispersible
in water.
The drug is indicated
for treatment of chronic iron overload due to repeated blood
transfusions (transfusional hemosiderosis) in adult and pediatric
patients (aged 2 years and over)

Cipla has also launched Deferasirox as Desirox in India. Desirox is available in dosages of 250 mg and 500 mg dispersible tablets.
